Training Hell is Finally Over

This week has been pretty rough - working 15 hour days and being evaluated everyday on lessons I demonstrate in front of real students. Needless to say, we all needed some r&r, so we went to a crazy club in Sakae (area of Nagoya) last night called I.D. Cafe Three fights broke out, some brazilian girl wanted to fight me on the dance floor. It was wall to wall people on seven different floors. It was one of the craziest clubs I've ever been to, and they had really good music. It was fun.

Today I was a bit hung over, but did a little sightseeing at Nagoya Port. They have a little Italy- actually a replica of Venice. It was really cool. We had pizza and caesar salads and gelato - this is a big deal in Japan because I've been eating some pretty weird stuff lately.

After Venice, we walked around the port and I stupidly went on the ferris wheel - a bit higher than I wanted to go. But, there was a really nice view. Now, I'm getting ready to pack up my stuff. Tomorrow, I leave for Okazaki - only 30 min. by train - and will be met at the station by my manager and the other foreign teacher. We'll all go out to lunch, then I will move into another hotel until I move into my apartment (about one week). I have a welcome party on Thursday night, a BBQ party this weekend, and one of the students (who I haven't met yet) is taking me to a sumo tournament in a couple of weeks. Sounds like a good place to work.

Well, I'm beat. It's off to bed for me. I'll try to post some pics tonight.
